Create your own peaceful landscape in glass. This intermediate-level class guides you through building a 9.5" x 9.5" stained glass panel featuring layered mountains, rolling hills, and a flowing stream.
Students will cut, grind, foil, solder, and patina their project from start to finish while learning techniques for working with curved lines, layering depth, and achieving smooth solder lines across larger pieces.
All tools and materials are provided. Just bring your creativity and a sense of adventure!
What You'll Learn:
- How to safely cut and shape glass curves
- How to apply copper foil to each piece
- Soldering techniques to join your project together & create smooth lines
- Using wire to create a secure hook for hanging
- Bordering using lead came
- Tips for patina and finishing touches
Project:
All particpants will be creating the same mountain scene panel. During class, you'll also have the opportunity to select your own color palette from a curated variety of beautiful glass to make your piece truly one-of-a-kind.
Safety Requirements:
For your protection, closed-toe shoes and clothing that fully covers your legs are required. You will also be asked to sign a safety waiver before class begins.
Leave with: A finished stained glass piece you created and the confidence to keep creating!
